Prof. Chaudhuri is the Executive Director at The Mack Institute for Innovation Management and has extensive background in innovations among incumbent firms.
During this interactive event, Prof. Chaudhuri will present Mack Institute’s research findings to discuss how organizations can reprioritize and find opportunities to innovate in periods of turmoil. Beyond survival, firms need to invest actively in innovation-related activities to lead the rest. The goal of the event is to create an opportunity for alumni to learn how to best approach innovation strategies during times of crisis, as well as to learn how firms are employing tactics for resilience and success.

About Saikat Chaudhuri
Prof. Saikat Chaudhuri is executive director of the Mack Institute for Innovation Management, a research institute at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he serves as adjunct associate professor of management. His research is focused on mergers and acquisitions, organizational adaptation, outsourcing and technological innovation.

“Innovation” brings to our mind the maverick entrepreneur who quits their job, at unimaginable odds, to build a business on their own. But this entrepreneurial story is a myth. As a successful entrepreneur, author, consultant and CEO, Kaihan Krippendorff (W’94, Eng’95) argues that intrapreneurs – employees who incubate new businesses within corporations – have had a far greater impact on the world. Nearly all of the most transformative innovations over the past three decades, from e-mail and the Internet to DNA sequencing and MRI scans, were introduced by employees who did not quit their jobs but instead took the challenge of innovating from within.
