
Shari Wakiyama is the President of the Wharton Club of Southern California and Vice President, Technology. Prior to moving to California, Shari started and ran the Wharton Club of Maryland.
She was most recently the Director of Product for Metropolis. Shari has more than twenty-five years of experience in product management, data science, technology, marketing, strategy and finance. She formerly served as Director of Product at Fandango where she led the Company’s customer and data technology initiatives, and Director, Data Science and Product at Inmar, a leading provider of technology, services and insights to the consumer, retail and healthcare industries, where she led the company’s Data Science Team. She has also served as a vice president with M&T Bank, senior software engineer with Northrop Grumman, electrical engineering consultant with Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., and a high school mathematics and computer science teacher. She is an expert and frequent speaker in the fields of data science, marketing analytics and customer lifetime value.
Shari holds a Bachelor of Arts dual degree in Mathematics and Education from LaSalle University, an M.Ed. in Mathematics from DeSales University, an M.B.A. from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and completed graduate work in computer science at Villanova University. In the offline world, she is a traveler, environmentalist, triathlete and third-degree black belt in traditional Japanese martial arts. She lives in Malibu with her husband and fellow Wharton alum, Steve Dollase.
